CIDEHUS – Interdisciplinary Centre for History, Cultures and Societies at the University of Évora took once again part in the European Researchers’ Night, held on September 25th at Praça 1.º de Maio in Évora, with a varied and engaging programme of activities. The ASTO's research team, which is part of the Centre, joined this event, welcoming dozens of visitors to its stand and creating opportunities for researchers and the wider community to meet, connect and exchange ideas.
The event provided an opportunity to showcase the Observatory’s work on tourism sustainability, data monitoring and information sharing, while highlighting its role in both Destination Watch, Portugal’s national network of tourism observatories coordinated by Turismo de Portugal, and the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO), led by UN Tourism. It also offered a chance to present the PISTA Digital platform and share ongoing research on visitor profiles and the heritage of the Alentejo.
Throughout the event, the Go Goals! game engaged younger visitors in an activity inspired by the traditional Game of the Goose. In a fun and interactive way, the game introduced participants to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.
